I am 600+ hours into the game and can count every death on one hand. Experienced players it's different and it's all up to you. Instead, Bronze ingots can only be crafted by combining two other types of metals together. You don't know the dangers of the mobs in the next biomes. Unlike other metals in Valheim, Bronze does not have its own specific type of ore that can be mined. You can combine them into Bronze bars, which are necessary for most (but not all) of your metal gear. If it's your first playthrough, I don't recommend skipping anything. To make Bronze, bring Copper and Tin to your Forge. Plan it such that you don't all drop a full set of the previous gear each time which can be wasteful if your group has many people, and not a lot of people getting metal. It can be a good idea once in iron to stagger the upgrades. So here are the steps you have to follow from the beginning. But to get these two materials, first, you need to unlock mining. And this is exactly what you need in Valheim to get Bronze: 1 Tin Bar and 2 Copper Bars. Just know you increase the risk of death if you are in a biome without armor from the previous - that is the design. As such, according to Wikipedia: Bronze is an alloy consisting primarily of copper, commonly with about 1212.5 tin. I understand if you are in a group it can take wayyyyy too much to farm all of that. I like to take things slow, build every piece to max as I work through but my brother and I farm well, plan well and use our metals well. It all depends on how you want to play, who are you playing with. If you are in swamp with troll you are going to be one shotted by draug. Swords have a powerful 3-attack combo and a hard-hitting special attack that will stagger your target. You’ll need to head into the Black Forest to get Copper and Tin, then, make a forge before you can craft it. If you are in mountain without iron you will be one shotted by Wolves. The Bronze Sword is the first sword you can craft in Valheim. You can skip bronze without much issue, you can even skip iron as some people suggest however you are going to die a few times as a result so if you are good with that it's just fine.īronze no doubt needs a buff and while skipping stuff is possible, remember each set of gear after it is a wall to the next biome. It's all about the experience, it's not a race. Then I hit them with an arrow and let them chase me back to the pit. Eventually I see them coming, and I let them get close enough that I can see the yellow "alerted" icon over their heads, and I start backing down the path I built, trying to keep them in that alerted status, and not actually aggro, until I'm close enough to my taming pit that I know I'll have enough of a head start. When I first hear the faint sounds of howling, I take out my Antler pick and start pounding rocks - mining sounds call them in from farther away than their usual sensory range. Campfires go out in a snowstorm, so if one starts, it's time to do something else. Wolves are faster than you, so you have to be able to see them first.Īnd then I slowly build a path into the mountains, placing campfires at intervals that just overlap enough to keep the freezing debuff off of me. I dig my taming pit at the bottom of the mountains in a place that I can see far into the mountain biome.
